Terms of Business

ORDERING:
Items may be reserved by telephone, fax, letter or e-mail. Many are one of a kind and therefore, you may wish to state alternative selections where possible.

When ordering by mail, do NOT send payment with the initial order, to avoid the necessity to remit a refund for items no longer available. Such orders will be acknowledged with an invoice, confirming the availability of items ordered and all charges. Alternatively, you may provide credit card information for prompt despatch of goods as available.

Orders normally will be shipped by Xpresspost within Canada and USA, or airmail small packet for overseas upon receipt of payment. Registration is no longer available for overseas small packets.

PAYMENT:
This catalogue is priced in CANADIAN DOLLARS. Payment will normally be remitted in Canadian funds by personalized cheque (Canada & USA only) or money order. We also accept MasterCard, Visa, and American Express cards. Please indicate card type, your name as it appears on the card, card number, expiry date and 3-digit security code together with your signature on the order form.

Unfortunately, personal cheques from other than Canada and the USA are not acceptable because of the high cost of bank clearance. Overseas clients will find it safe and convenient to remit by international money order or credit card.

For your convenience, payment may also be made in either $US or £UK. If you wish to remit in either currency, please indicate so on the initial order, and you will be invoiced at the spot exchange rate at Toronto as at the date of invoice.

PAYMENT SCHEDULES:
In most cases, orders are shipped on receipt of full payment. However, for the convenience of clients, particularly in the case of large orders, a payment schedule can be negotiated on a case by case basis. This usually involves a "lay-away" arrangement with part payments scheduled over a fixed period of time, usually not exceeding 90 days. Enquire at the time of ordering.

ADDITIONAL CHARGES:
Prices quoted are FOB Kingston. The following charges will be added to all orders as applicable:

a. Shipping for most orders, including Xpresspost, at the following flat rates, reflecting postal rate increases effective 1 February 2013: Canada (regional ON/QC) - $10.50; Canada (national) $16.50 plus $1.50 for signature as required; USA - $24.00 or ordinary packet (not traceable) from $6.00; overseas airmail small packet (not traceable) - from $10. Rates charged may be reduced for very small, inexpensive, light-weight orders sent by regular mail; similarly, large, heavy orders (such as books, firearms, cannon balls etc.) will be shipped by the most economical means and charged at cost.

b. In accordance with GST/HST changes with effect 1 Apr 2013, domestic sales tax charges will be as follows:
  • For ON, NB & NL, the HST at 13%
  • For BC, AB, SK, MB, QC, YT, NT, NU, the GST at 5%
  • For PE, the HST at 14%,
  • For NS, the HST at 15%
  • except books, charged at the GST rate of 5%.

    GIFT CERTIFICATES:
Because it is difficult if not impossible for friends or relatives to purchase a suitable gift for the family collector, we offer the easy alternative of a Gift Certificate. A Gift Certificate may be purchased in any desired amount for later redemption towards the purchase of any goods from any catalogue. Write with your enquiry.

    DESCRIPTIONS AND PRICING:
All items are offered as genuine, original material to the best of my knowledge, except where otherwise noted as "copy" or "replica".

Items are described as completely and clearly as possible within the limits of space and brevity. You may wish to consult the glossary of abbreviations and terms for some of the "short-hand" terms in the printed catalogues. However, items shipped may vary from the published description where more than one example of an item is held in stock.

Every effort is made to keep prices as low as possible, given the costs of acquisition, market conditions and the ever increasing costs of doing business. Consequently, prices may be changed without notice. Where prices on the web site list vary from those in printed catalogues, the web site price will be the effective price.

    RETURNS:
Any item that is found unsatisfactory for any reason may be returned immediately by return mail for a full refund (less shipping and handling), replacement by a similar or another catalogue item if available, or for credit against a future purchase at the choice of the client.
